Steady state behavior of a booster heat pump for hot water supply in ultra-low temperature district heating network

Employing booster heat pumps (BHP) in district heating systems can provide a way to use low temperature sources for as they allow locally increasing the water on user side where necessary. Thereby, it decreased loss of system. This experimental study investigated steady state thermal behavior BHP cases with different forward and flow rates side. The unit used R134a working fluid. results revealed that Coefficient Performance (COP) system has an optimal value at studied range. At 45 °C pump reached maximum COP 4.95, capacity 15.36 kW, exergy efficiency 33.4 %, respectively. Lorenz is ranged from 13 27 0.16 0.26, Exergy destruction each component well proposed have also been analyzed, which showed compressor take highest among components. 24.9% 33.4% considered conditions. share condenser evaporator were influenced by transfer condition both sides, reveals achieve potential performance improvement better matching profile evaporator.
